We recently had a visitor at Rego Point here for Sam York Day (March 26). He liked it so much he stayed for St. Cholula's Day (March 27) as well! He arrived in the middle of Pi(e) Day (Observed) in Brooklyn and then got the night tour of Ridgewood, Middle Village and Reog Park by way of the Q38. The next day after talking his way into the Staten Island Museum he got to check out Curry Hill and the East Village. The next morning after a brief stop at La Guardia he decided to stay another day!
Meanwhile, I rode my bike to Astoria and back and finally understand how all the streets work in Queens above ground. Not as confusing as it seems! We look forward to Sam York Day 2013 and any future Sam Friedman visits!

Pickle Update + Summer Arrives Early
The pickles we made before I left for the West Coast turned out great. They are a little bit salty so maybe less salt next time but otherwise, great pickle. This abundance of pickles has lead to my newest favorite snack: the Pickle Apple Sandwich (see photo).
Also, summer decided to arrive last week I was going to take some sun spot shots today while in the Bronx (where it was a cool 65°) for work but I left my camera at home.

Real Life Pics
When I was in Seattle my friend Jen was trying to take 'real life pics' to send to her brother so that he could know what her 'real life' was like. She forgot her camera a couple times so I took some to send to her. I managed to get some real life pics in San Francisco while I was there too!
In SF while I felled a tree some neighbor kid helped Bonnie dig plastic grass out of the compost! Later Mariah and mom had a video chat staring contest:
When I took off from SF the whole city was covered in clouds with Sutro Tower sticking out, it's a little blurry but if you click through to the big size you can probably make it out. Then when I got to Seattle it was cloudy but it got sunny the next day. The view from the light rail in SoDo:
