Camp and Upperline

Here is Erik and Christina's house, they live in the apartment on the right on the upper floor.

The house is old, the kitchen and the porch -- each on one side of the house -- have slanted floors, here in the living room and at other windows there are vines growing into the house.

Their neighborhood is wacky as seen in this telephone pole!

This is a house on the same property as theirs with many more vines growing on it.

Although the neighborhood is old and has many cool houses these two across the street are newer buildings and are pretty boring, at least the one on the right here has a porch.

Here is their balcony with their garden and Brer Cat.

We're still here

The past few days in New Orleans have been fun, after a few dry days it turned rainy although it doesn't rain for very long when it does.  This morning we woke up at 6:30 to a thunder storm right above us and tonight there is a lightning show in the window but it seems to be too far away to hear any thunder.  A few days ago we went down to the French Quarter and got beignets at the famous Cafe Du Monde.  Today Rosie and I rode bikes down to Audubon Park and paid another visit to the Mississippi River.

New Roads, LA to New Orleans, LA

The Hat Club of New Orleans.

Amazing toilet seat and lid at Vangie And BK's
house, where we stayed in New Orleans!

Just a few of the very handsome pets of
Vangie and BK.

The Refrigerator at Vangie's. There were many
magnets and wonderful notes written all over.
One note read "Leave others their otherness, "
and another "Support bacteria. They're the
only culture some people have." The story goes
that when BK (not pictured)  first saw Vangie's
fridge, he knew he wanted to marry her!

Pat and Vangie fight over who will wash this
dish.

We met Vangie at a cafe outside of New Roads,
LA. We asked to camp in her yard and she readily
agreed. Later, as a powerful rainstorm hit,
Vangie and BK opened their home to us and
were wonderful hosts and just downright amazing people.
